MEETINGSMeetings or workshops are held on the 3rd Sunday of Jan., Mar., May, July, Sept. & Nov., and begin at 2 p.m. Business meetings are held in March, July and November. Workshops are held in January, May and September. Executive board meetings are held at 1 p.m. prior to all general meetings and workshops. Meetings and workshops will be at the Research Center unless otherwise announced.
MCGS RESEARCH CENTERThe MCGS Research Center is located at 334 Historic Route 66 North, Litchfield, Illinois in the Litchfield Museum and Route 66 Welcome Center. From April 1st to October 31st, hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and we are open on Monday & Wednesday thru Saturday. From November 1st to March 31st, we are open Wednesday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
ACQUISITIONSDonated items, books for review, exchange quarterlies, manuscripts, etc. become the property of the Montgomery County Genealogical Society and are placed in the MCGS Research Center for research purposes.
QUARTERLYThe Montgomery County Genealogical Society Quarterly contains a maximum of 48 pages and is sent to members (1 copy per household). All Quarterlies will be sent via E-mail to the membership in PDF format. Late renewals and new members receive back issues for the current year via E-mail. Members are invited and encouraged to submit genealogical material to the Quarterly Editor to be used in the quarterly. Material should be properly documented and credit will be given to the author/submitter. The Editor reserves the right to accept or reject any material submitted and reserves the right to edit. The Society assumes no responsibility for errors of fact or opinions made by the author. In case of error, we will gladly correct it. All submissions must include written permission by the submitter to be accepted.
